| 1976........ Bakers Junction Railroad Museum.......... 2011 ..... I am Johnny F Baker, I am 57, a 100% disabled Veteran, I just lost my left leg to cancer. I started a railroad museum in 1976 & have bin working on it ever since, but now with only one leg, working on it will be hard to do. I am lucky I have a good pinion that pays the bills, but I am paying off $70.000.00 in high entrust loans, money it cost us to fight off the Bloomington Monroe Co. Planing $ zoning ! Under there New county wide Master Plain they decided we could not have a railroad museum 10 miles out in the country? It had to be moved in to Bloomington IN. ? Of cores it had taken me since 1976 to move in & sat up the railroad museum with 2 train stations a train & cabooses water towers & more all sat up, So moving it would be impossible. But planing $ zoning had us in court & planing $ zoning meeting for 3 years to force us to close the railroad museum? But I had all the right zoning & permits & planing $ zoning approval be for I started Bakers Junction Railroad Museum in 1976. For Photos & more info go to www.bakersjunction.com . I need some help to save the Railroad Museum! We need to have a story done to let people no whats going on, If not for the illegal planing $ zoning attack that cost us over $100.000.00 & forced us in to bank ruptcy, we would not need any help. The problem is banks wont lone money on a railroad museum & wont count my Navy pinion as income? So I am paying 20 & 30% entrust on the loans we do have & it will take 10 more years to pay off the money it cost me to fight off planing $ zoning. The problem is the two century old Monon train stations have bad roof that are leaking & wont last long! New medal roofs will cost $10.000.00 that I do not have & with only one leg I cant do the work my self. So I have to find some help to pay for the roofs or some one to refinance Bakers Junction Railroad museum for $90.000.00. Since we had to have an auction & sale ever thing we had ! All the railroad antiques out of the railroad museum, ever thing out of our shop & my stone business, so the trains & train stations where empty, So we have a Haunted Train to raise money for the Railroad Museum in Oct. The problem is Bakers Junction Railroad Museum is on Bloomington Monroe Co. Planing $ comings black list. Even tho they could not force me to close the railroad museum, they did classify the railroad museum as a non conforming business ? The county attorney Dave Shilling charged Bakers Junction is a determent to Monroe Co. As a whole ??? So we do not get any help form Bloomington or Monroe Co. I had hoped to have Bakers Junction Railroad Museum fixed up be for I die ! & I would have if we lived in a Free Country! But now we live in a communist planing $ zoning dictatorship & they have decided the railroad museum shod be closed to the public because its out side the city limits. In 1976 I went to planing $ zoning got there approval to sat up the railroad museum, I got the right zoning & all the right permits & I have spent over 30 years saving & sating up Bakers Junction Railroad Museum & now its all hear & sat up? They want me to close it because it does not fit in to there New County Wide Master Plain ??? I may be old & crippled up but I will go no & do the best I can to save & fix up the railroad museum, It will never be as good as it would have if they had not illegally attacked us for 3 years & forced us in to bank ruptcy, but I will go no & do the best I can to save it & fix it up. We have a good Haunted Train in Oct. But we only get about a 1000 people a year, We need some help! The IU paper the IDS has rain stories on Bakers Junction & it helps, But the Bloomington Paper the herald times, seams to be against us, they do stories on others, but they usually laves us off there free haunted house page. Our first weekend of the Haunted Train we give out 5000 Free Tickets to charities & groups they can use them or sale them to raise money, But the Hearld Times paper will not run an add that I payed for to give away Free Tickets??? So its hard to let people no about it. I cant save Bakers Junction Railroad Museum by my self ? I am very lucky, I am a crippled up one legged 100% disabled Veteran, but I have survived bone cancer & over 30 operations, we survived an illegal 3 year planing $ zoning attack. I have a pinion to pay the bills, 3 kids & 3 grain kids, I live in a box car but it’s a good place to live & I could live for 20 more years. But I have to find some held to save the two venture old train stations I have to come up with $10.000.00 for new 50year medal roofs or they will not last long. If you can do a story or can help me save Bakers Junction Railroad Museum I would be grateful. People are all ways welcome to stop by & look around. Or come to the Haunted Train.
