| COPS HAVE A TOFF JOB! One I would not wont to have. As for as the shooting the cop did the right thing, If any one comes at me with a knife I would do the same thing. Cops may not work hard & most of there job is just riding a round in a car ! But ever time they get out they are putting there life on the line. Any one who is so bad they need to be locked up until they die of old age shod just be put to sleep. The letter that calls for abolishing the death penalty points out some flaws in the death penalty & there is a lot ! But every law in the land has flaws but you do not stop using them you fix them & go on. 1 the emotional costs of the death penalty! Big dill I am tired of hearing about the guilty persons rights! what a bout the victims rights. The guilty person chouses to bring on the emotional cost to hem self & his family but the victim did not. 2 the financial costs versus those of life without parole! There right it cost way to much to convict some one in a death penalty case we need to cut that cost! But the cost of life with out parol has meany hidden cost, first we are wasting a space on some one that can not be help or saved, when that space cod be used for some one who cod be saved & helped. NO We do not need to abolish the death penalty we need to speed it up make it cheaper & expand it to cover more crimes a 3 strike law! murder of course! but add rape & child molesting, the 3 conviction & you are put to sleep. People die because we can not a ford health care but we can a ford to spend $3 million to seek the death penalty or over $1 million over every inmate’s lifetime that’s just stupid. | Court refuses to rehear Morgan County death penalty case INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Supreme Court has refused to rehear an appeal by a man sentenced to death for killing a Morgan County sheriff’s deputy during a June 2001 shootout. The high court in March upheld the death penalty for Tommy Pruitt in the murder of Morgan County Warrant Officer Dan Starnes. Pruitt had asked the court to rehear the case, saying its ruling that courtroom procedure had not been flawed was in error. But the court said it would change a ruling on post-conviction relief only if evidence led to an opposite conclusion than that reached by the lower court, and that was not the case. Pruitt’s attorneys had claimed that he was mentally retarded, but courts have ruled that they failed to prove it. GOOD ! MAYBE IN 10 TO 20 YEARS HE WILL BE PUT TO SLEEP ?
