There is a lot of people who have ben hear a long time who do not have a clue how things work. Bloomington is not rain by the Mayor or the commissioners they only carry out the day to day business, Bloomington & Monroe Co. is rain by the business mafia the BEDC. If you think all the business pay the mafia $5000.00 a year to bring in new business so they will have competition you have to have a screw loose. They do want the town to grow but only in a way that makes them money & if they can make the tax payers pay for things like a new convention center the chump theater $5.3M on a stupid leaky fountain! Then the business mafia has dune its job & the way they do it with out most people even knowing there doing it, there brilliant. You have to be past gullible & deep in to stupidly to believe the propaganda that the city leaders put out. Like planing & zoning is to protec our property rights ! We have none, They slow urban sprawl ! They have caused it to spread further & faster than any thing else cod have. & keep Bloomington the little collage town ? They have dune ever thing they can to true it in to a big city. If you think any thing the P&Z & the city leaders say is the truth , you have not had to dill with them. Why would you think they would treat poor people from ½ way around the world fairly. I just call it the Bloomington business mafia & they do run things & if you want to do business in Monroe CO. You need to pay them $1000 to $5000.00 a year. They have worked hard to keep out new business , But you just want to come in & do business sating up a fair trade shop & not pay off anyone? You have to be joking. | Bloomington Indiana The work on the B-Line Trail is good but when are they going to paint the new walking bridge over clear creek on the south side . I have heard it is not going to be painted but know one could think that rusty thing cod look good . I just do not under stained why the bridge was not made from a maintains free steel like aluminum stainless steel or at lest galvanized steel , but I am just a bomb old illiterate country boy . | ELLETTSVILLE YOUTH CENTER The Ellettsville youth center has become reality for info- contact Baldwin at 332-5311 or jbaldwin@bgcbloomington. org _ www.eagleslandingmall.com/ccmc The Youth & Community Center of Monroe County, a collaboration between Boys & Girls Clubs of Bloomington, Girls Inc. and Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Central Indiana, The center will serve area children ages 6 to 18 after school, and will be housed at Eagles Landing- the old Ellettsville Elementary School that’s been repurposed to house shops and local businesses. Cherlyn Crees, who was a member of the Leadership Bloomington-Monroe County class & that initially proposed the youth center project and is now a member of the center’s advisory board. “The town has grown substantially in the last years.” For a small fee kids will be able to participate in programming at the center that could range from homework help to classes focused on art, music or technology. Students will be transported to the center by Richland-Bean Blossom Community School Corp. buses, according to lead agency Boys & Girls Club executive director Jeff Baldwin. R-BB superintendent Steve Kain said he’s not sure yet whether buses will add the center to their regular routes, or whether there will be special transportation directly to the center. It depends on how many students participate, he said “It’s a good location,” he said. “And hopefully it will be a viable program for the kids that take part in it.” The center has space on two floors inside Eagles Landing: four classrooms and some office space on one floor, and six to eight classrooms on another, Baldwin said. | MONROE CO. FAIR SUCKS ! Like most things in Bloomington IU the fair is rain for by a small group of rich out of touch arty fartsy bloomingidiots! It shod not even be called the Monroe Co. Fair it shod be caller the Rich & snooty fair. The Monroe Co. Fair shod be for the people but its not I am a cripple up 100% disabled veteran & to just get in I have to pay 7 or 8 bucks for a ride ban & I cant even rid any thing. Every night its something differed I don’t know what night I will fill like going to the Fair but I do not want to be screwed over on the night I do go. Clifford Powell is right the rides suck & the price of ever thing is out ragas I all ways spent to much at the Fair but I stopped going when they started shaking me down just to get in There is good fairs around & most are free to get in to or a fair parking fee.
